Not only do we typically have too wait a whole year between each series of HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones, but this time they’re going to keep us waiting even longer.
How dare they. The ultimate betrayal.
Admittedly, we’re used to it – they’ve killed off everyone we love already. But now they’re making us wait even longer to get our Westeros fix.
Why? Because they want to air the fictional winter during the literal winter, so they plan of bumping it back a few months. Nice. Great. Thanks.
Producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed on the UFC unfiltered podcast:
“We don’t have an air date yet but this year will probably be a little bit later.
We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more.
So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Wow. You know guys, the weather here in the UK is pretty miserable, even in the middle of summer. Just come and film here, yeah? You even pretend that the pollution of London is you know… dragon’s smoke, or something.
Woe is us. Get your waiting hats on people!
