The ‘Game of Thrones’ symbolism in that final Ep 4 shot you may have missed

If there's one thing 'Game of Thrones' does well, it's symbolism.

Cersei has been an anchor to Jaime for awhile now.

A part of him clearly wants to be a good person, but his allegiance to his increasingly vicious sister is holding him back.

As Redditor NsRhea pointed out, the final shot of Episode 4 did a brilliant job of emphasising this:

Look his Lannister armour is quite literally dragging him down here, pulling him into the darkness.

The rest of Reddit clearly agreed.

Someone even went one step further, with an added Azor Ahai twist to the theory.

Either way, one thing’s for certain: if Jaime doesn’t shed that heavy lion symbol very, very quickly, it’s going to end up killing him.
