The first real ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 trailer is already melting the Internet

We finally have real, actual footage from the sixth season of Game of Thrones, and if the latest trailer is any indication, Jon Snow is obviously, completely, and most definitely dead.

The presence of Kit Harington, whos been at the center of Game of Thrones promotion and endless speculation despite Jons death last season, isnt exactly a surprise; he recently confirmed he would be back as Jons corpse. But while the trailer spends a good amount of time with Jons corpse at Castle Blackas well as an ominous conversation between Melisandre and Davos Seaworth, the latter who is seen picking up Longclaw near Jons body and Ghost.

But is he really dead, or only mostly dead, as tons of people believe based onevidence to the contrary? Many fans are convinced the showrunners are going to pull a miraculous resurrection this season.

The trailer also sets up the non-Jon plots of the season, many which will take the show into new territory outside of the books from which the show is adapted. Between the ultimate battle between the royal family and the Faith in Kings Landing, the fight for the north, the chaos in Braavos, Meereen, the Dothraki Sea, and everywhere in-between, it seems like the bloodshed is just starting and the game is about to entirely shift.

As we saw from previous promotions, the show will be experimenting with flashbacks and visions such as our first glimpse at the infamous Tower of Joy scene that may reveal Jons true parentage.

But we have no idea how Bran’s apparent encounter with the Nights King will play out.

Game of Thrones returns April 24.
