Game Of Thrones Author George R.R. Martin Reveals A MAJOR Twist Will Happen In The Next Book But NOT The Show! Find Out Why!

Once Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin announced that the HBO series would outpace his A Song of Ice and Fire saga, fans were upset that the show’s upcoming sixth season would spoil the next novel.

But fans of the books can expect a major twist in The Winds of Winter that definitely WON’T be on TV — because it features a character that was already killed off in the show!

In a new interview with IGN, the author confirmed he is moving forward with the narrative convolution in his forthcoming novel that he was debating writing last year.

When asked if he was going through with the twist, Martin said:

“I have decided to do that, yes. Will you know it? I don’t know. It’s fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of whom is dead on the show, but not dead in the books. So the show can’t do it, because they have killed a character I have not killed.”

Hmmm… Jon Snow???

Nah, we think he might be talking about Stannis Baratheon — who the author confirmed to still be “alive, beyond a doubt” in his books!

While he believed the twist would be “obvious” to readers, Martin isn’t too worried that revealing the twist involved a dead character would spoil anything, adding:

“That doesn’t narrow it down much because at this point there are like 15 characters who are dead on the show who are still alive on the books.”

When asked if he ever felt pressure to “beat the show,” the writer said:

“If I did have that thought, I’ve lost because the show has caught up and is in the process of passing me. Ideally, I would have liked to have finished all seven books and have the story complete, but the show moves at a faster pace than I do and that’s partly because I am a slow writer…Ideally I wish I could hold up The Winds of Winter right now and tell everyone to go buy it but it is still not done so all I can do is continue to write it.”

We totally respect your process, George — just don’t take TOO much longer! LOLz!

Which character do YOU think will be involved in the twist?
