You’ve probably thought to yourself over the course of the last six Game of Thrones series that a few of the beloved actors looked familiar, and that’s because quite a few of them were also in the Harry Potter movies.
Or, like me, you didn’t recognise any of them and now you’re kicking yourself and trying to figure out how you missed it.
Check them out:
Michelle made a (very) brief appearance in the Harry Potter series as Hermoine’s mother. She took on a very different mother role in Game of Thrones as the feisty Catelyn Stark.
Bradley was Hogwarts’grumpy and cruel caretaker, Argus Filch. He retained the ‘cruel’ aspect of his character when he went on to play Walder Frey, head of House Frey, and betrayed the Starks.
Albus Dumbledore had a brother named Aberforth, remember? He was played by none other thanCiarn Hinds – who then went on to play the King Beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder.
Stroma played the obnoxious Cormac Mcleggen who got on Hermione’s nerves during Professor Slughorn’s Christmas party. He made an appearance in series 6 of Game of Thrones as Sam’s younger brother Dickon Tarly
You wouldn’t have recognised Glover, because he voiced the huge spider Aragon and never actually showed his face during the Harry Potter series. But you’ll definitely recognise him as Grand Maester Pycelle from Game of Thrones.
Natelia played the purple haired Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter series, but joined the cast of Game of Thrones as the fearless wildling Oisha during series 4.
Whyte is impressively just over seven foot tall, and he has played his fair share of tall characters. He was the body actor for Harry potter giant Madame Olympe Maxime, and since joining the cast of Game of Thrones has played Wun Wun the giant, a well as a white walker and even The Mountain for a while
Mortemore played Irma Pince, a librarian at Hogwarts. he then popped back up as a Braavosi woman in GoT series 6. Will the poor woman ever land a speaking role?
